    Canal Motorboats Review

    Canal Motorboats Review

Amsterdam is one of Europe's most beautiful cities, and there is no better way to experience it than by boat. We opted to experience the sights on a silent electric boat. For anyone who hasn't had the opportunity to visit this wonderful city, this is by far the best way to take in all the sights. The silent electric boats fit in perfectly, giving sight seekers a clean and eco-friendly way to get around.

The boats are well fitted, with comfortable seats and decent leg room. There is a wide walkway too, so people who need wider access shouldn't have a problem.

Amsterdam is famous for its cobbled streets and extensive network of canals. Travelling by boat we really felt like we were not only getting more time to appreciate the sights, but a better panoramic view. There is a timeless and unspoilt feel to much of the city, with all the old historic buildings still standing proud and well maintained.

"It's one of the best ways to experience the city."

Just outside of the old city we passed through the redeveloped Eastern Docklands area. Where the old historic docks is now home to a blend of those picturesque sights we all know from postcards. With hundreds of modern apartments, a concert hall, shopping districts, bars and restaurants. We made a mental note to take a trip down to this district on foot later if time allows.

There is a fairy-tale like feel to our experience as you pass under arched bridges and pass other boats on the water. The streets are lined with cafes, boutiques, and bars. People wave as you pass by and for a moment it's easy to lose yourself and forget about the bustle of the city centre. Travelling further out from the city and down some of the smaller canals we were treated to more of the gabled townhouses, much of the city hasn't changed since its 17th century hay day.

The canal boats are incredibly relaxing. You can choose to just sit back and enjoy the ride, or you have the freedom to move around and take in as many sights as you want. You can barely even hear the silent electric motor, it's a much different experience than a typical motor boat. We took the trip during the morning, but it's easy to imagine how beautiful it would be in the evening as the city starts to light up.

If you're visiting Amsterdam, taking a boat ride on one of these boats is a must. It's one of the best ways to experience the city and appreciate the old and new it has to offer. It gave us some wonderful memories, and I wouldn't hesitate to take another trip.
