Le Jardin De Russie can be found at the Rocco Forte, Hotel de Russie in Rome, Italy. Le Jardin De Russie is situated on the terrace of this wonderful hotel with nearby citrus trees creating a wonderful aroma, and greenery providing a wonderful natural ambiance.

Having visited this restaurant before, we were excited to return to see if it’s high standards remained intact. With its stunning setting, this restaurant lends itself well to enjoying an aperitif as you watch the sun go down, which we were more than willing to partake in. I chose a Negroni, which was mixed with martini rubino, bitter martini and Bombay Sapphire gin, served with a single ice block. My partner chose the Last Word which saw Tanqueray Ten gin mixed with green chartreuse, maraschino and lime juice. Both cocktails were expertly crafted, and thoroughly enjoyable.

For our starters, I chose the spaghetti pomodoro e basilica; a beautiful pasta dish served with a fresh, sweet, flavoursome tomato sauce with basil. My partner chose the linguine with clams, which was equally as delicious with the clams being extremely fresh.

“For fantastic Italian cuisine in a beautiful setting, you absolutely cannot go wrong with Le Jardin De Russie.”

For our main courses, my partner decided on the sea bass from the Himalayan pink salt grill. This dish included a side of dramatics with it being prepared tableside, which was a joy. It was also served with a fine selection of fresh herbs and seasonal vegetables. I chose the John Dory which was served with artichokes and olive oil mashed potatoes. The flavour combinations in this dish were just superb, and perfectly complimented the delicate flavour of the fish. We also added a side of roman chicory to our meal.

We couldn’t pass on the opportunity for dessert, so I chose the dark chocolate vegan mousse which was served with orange sorbet, and my partner opted for the classic vanilla crème brulée, which provided the perfect ending to our dining experience.

Alongside our meal, we thoroughly enjoyed a bottle of the 2016 Poggiolella Maremma Toscana Riserva Pugnitello, Italy. This wine is balanced, dry and full-bodied and was the perfect accompaniment to our beautiful evening.

Once again, we thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Le Jardin De Russie. This is a special restaurant that truly delivers on their food and drink offering, and most importantly on their service. We had a fantastic evening and were left wanting for nothing. The setting is most romantic; we certainly recommend that you check it out if you find yourself in Rome. For fantastic Italian cuisine in a beautiful environment, you absolutely cannot go wrong with Le Jardin De Russie.
